TEST-BASED COMPETITION - GROUND RULES

  • The competition will be open to full-time students from 2 levels: Secondary and Tertiary

  • Secondary Students age between 13 – 17** years old
  • Tertiary Students age between 18 – 25 years old
     
  • ** Students age 17 years old who is in Junior College, Polytechnic or other vocational school will fall under tertiary education

  • Top 2 students from 2017 ICDL Digital Challenge from each participating country are not eligible to participant in 2018 competition.

  • Students will be required to provide their student identity upon registration on each round of the competition

  • Top 2 student from Secondary school and top 2 student from Tertiary education with the highest score will qualify for the Grand Final Round in Bangkok

  • If your country/territory is not opening the competition to Secondary students, the country/territory can only send 2 tertiary student during the Grand Final Round

  ROUND 1 – PRELIMINARY ROUND: 

  • Preliminary Round in each territory will be held any time between Jan – May 2018

  • Students will be required to sit for ICDL Preliminary Test at a designated computer lab in their respective school or our appointed test centres. Please note that the test taken will be supervised 
     
  • Estimated 20 questions on ICDL Base Modules 
     
  • Secondary & Tertiary Students - Tested Base Module for the Preliminary Round include:

    WORD PROCESSING, SPREADSHEETS, PRESENTATION, ONLINE ESSENTIALS

  • Test Duration: 30-minutes

  • The test will be closed on 31 May 2018

    ROUND 2 – NATIONAL ROUND

  • Top 2 students from each school will qualify for the National Round

  • National Round in each country will be held in Jun 2018 
    (actual date will be provided to students by April)
     
  • For this round, students will be required to sit for the actual ICDL test 
     
  • Secondary & Tertiary Students - ICDL Base + Intermediate Test (est. 70 questions, 1.5hrs) 

    (Students are required to choose any 2 modules from the listed modules below)

    WORD PROCESSING, SPREADSHEETS, PRESENTATION, AND IT SECURITY

  • Top 2 student from secondary school and top 2 student from tertiary education with the highest aggregate score will be selected to represent their country/territory for the Grand Final Round*

  • Top students will be provided with 3 diagnostic tests and/or online courseware to prepare for the Grand Final

  • Accomodation (2-nights) to Bangkok will be provided for Top students representing the country/territory for Grand Final Round

    ROUND 3 – GRAND FINAL ROUND

  • Top students from each participating territory will be in Bangkok to compete in the Grand Final Round (Tentative Date: 4 – 6 September)

  • Students will be required to compete in ALL selected modules for the Final Round
     
  • Secondary Students - ICDL Intermediate + Advanced Module (est 70 questions, 1.5hrs)

    ONLINE COLLABORATION AND ADVANCED PRESENTATION

  • Tertiary Students - ICDL Advanced Modules (est. 105 questions, 3hrs)

    ADVANCED WORD PROCESSING, ADVANCED PRESENTATION AND ADVANCED SPREADSHEETS 

  • Test Duration: 2- 3 hours
     
  • Top winners should to achieve at least 75% score or a pass for all modules and selected based on the highest aggregate score for all 3 modules

  • All participants will be required to attend the prize presentation ceremony/event that will take place the following day of competition

  • Winners will be announced during the Prize Presentation ceremony itself

*ICDL Asia reserve the right to change terms and conditions, venue and date of the competition.
