On 6 September 2018 during the ICDL Asia Digital Literacy Day 2018, ICDL Asia announced the official launch of the 3D Design Module. In conjunction with the launch of the 3D Design module, ICDL Asia invited a tertiary student from China, who recently presented his product at the XingShi-Cup International Industrial Design Competition in Guangzhou to showcase his competency and efficiency of the software in the design of his project.
IMT Hyderabad, top Business School in India recently concluded the ICDL Advanced Spreadsheets Certification for all its 212 1st year MBA students. ICDL was a mandatory part of the Orientation week at IMT Hyderabad. The feedback from the students as well as faculty coordinators has been very positive, with a special note for the interactive e-learning.
F-TEC Skill Development is a National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) Partner Company, with several centres in Delhi region and have a strong presence in the skill development ecosystem. ICDL India and FTEC will work jointly in Delhi/NCR to reach out to different educational institutions including Universities, Business Chambers, Government Bodies and other training boards/ professional bodies to create scope for ICDL certification.
On 20th September 2018, ICDL Asia signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ACCA Malaysia to introduce ICDL programmes to the ACCA members in Malaysia.

The event was graced by H.E. Air Chief Mar. Dr. Prachin Chantong, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Minster of Justice, His Excellency Tony Cotter, Ambassador Designate of Ireland to Thailand, Mr. Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of ICDL Foundation and many other distinguished guest speakers internationally and from Thailand.
A new report by UNESCO has highlighted the ICDL programme as a significant example of a digital skills framework around the world. ‘A Global Framework of Reference on Digital Literacy Skills for Indicator 4.4.2’ was published with the aim of providing a basis for an indicator of the, “Percentage of youth/adults who have achieved at least a minimum level of proficiency in digital literacy skills”, under the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Malaysia: Xtrategize and Berjaya TVET College worked hand in hand to prepare graduates for future workforce
During the ICDL Asia ATC Summit in Malaysia, Xtrategize Technologies signed an MOU with Berjaya TVET College, officially commemorates the collaboration of both organization. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Ambassador Earmon Hickey (Irish Ambassador to Malaysia), Ms Tina Wu (General Manager of ICDL Asia) and Mr Syed Fairul Al-Mashoor (Market Development Manager of ICDL Asia).
Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) bringing ICDL Certification to the Malaysian Students
Jul 2018 - Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (‘TAR UC’) officially became an ICDL Accredited Test Centre. Seeing the needs in increasing digital literacy standards for its students, TAR UC is dedicating 2 computer labs at the CPE Department of each campus for ICDL Testings. TAR UC have their Main Campus in Kuala Lumpur with five other branches in Penang, Perak, Johor, Pahang and Sabah respectively; it is well recognized locally and internationally among the academic fraternity and professional bodies.
First ACCA Teaser Class in Singapore introduced ACCA-ICDL certified ICT programmes to Accounting Professionals
Since the signing of MOU between ICDL Asia, ACCA Singapore and Kaplan Singapore in March 2018, ACCA Singapore initiated the first ACCA Teaser class on 16 July 2018. The class is jointly organised with Kaplan Singapore to increase awareness and application of existing and emerging digital technologies essential for professionals in accountancy and finance; increasing their capabilities, practices, strategies and understanding emerging culture of digitalisation in their profession.
