ICDL highlighted in UNESCO report as example of an international digital competence framework

A new report by UNESCO has highlighted the ICDL programme as a significant example of a digital skills framework around the world. ‘A Global Framework of Reference on Digital Literacy Skills for Indicator 4.4.2’ was published with the aim of providing a basis for an indicator of the, “Percentage of youth/adults who have achieved at least a minimum level of proficiency in digital literacy skills”, under the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communication and ICDL Vietnam co-hosted dissemination workshop on recognition of ICT certification

Rwanda Revenue Authority becomes ICDL Accredited Test Centre

The Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) is a government revenue collection agency established by the Parliament of Rwanda. The RRA is charged with enforcing, assessing, collecting, and accounting for the various taxes imposed in Rwanda. The International School Association Seychelles is now an ICDL Accredited Test Centre

Founded in 1969, ISS is a co-educational non-profit making school on the island of Mahe in the Seychelles. From small beginnings, the school has grown steadily and today has over 700 pupils on roll, aged 3 to 18 years and representing over 30 nationalities. Digital literacy needs to start in kindergarten according to new EU report

A new study by the EU’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) has examined the way that young children, up to age 8, use technology. A key finding is that there is an increase in technology use by very young children, often despite the lack of a structured way for those children to develop necessary digital skills.

17 EU members late in implementing new cybersecurity directive

17 EU Member States have been asked to formally transpose the Directive on Security of Network and Information Systems (NIS Directive) into national law. The deadline to implement the necessary laws at national level was 9 May this year, but so far, only 11 countries have indicated that they have done so.
