The official signing ceremony between UMP Holdings (UMPH) and ICDL Asia to officiate the appointment of UMPH as ICDL’s newest Accredited Test Centre (ATC) took place earlier this week.
On 8th February 2018, Bal Swavlamban Trust, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Hella, celebrated the first anniversary of their Digital Empowerment Centre. A ceremony was held to distribute ICDL certificates to the passing candidates. The initiative aims to help young people in Dhankot, where Hella has a manufacturing plant, to develop digital skills and become employable in some capacity.
ICDL Vietnam expands strategic partnership by signing MoU with Vietnam National Economics University
On 5th February 2018, a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ICDL Vietnam and Vietnam National Economics University (NEU) was taken place at the A2 auditorium of NEU.
Jan 2018 – Wuxi International School (WIS), a government owned international school in Wuxi, is successfully accredited as an ICDL Test Centre in China. WIS provide an international education environment for children of foreign nationals living and working in China and is directly under the leadership of the Wuxi Education Bureau. The school adopts ICDL to provide its students with the international assessment tools and testing platform, as well as equipping and developing the teachers with essential ICT skills.

SOS Philippines will be implementing one of its pillar project- Digital Village, to address the increasing digital divide between the SOS programme participants and the outside world. This project sought to address the need of limited or none-access to information and communication technology tools (such as computers, tablets, smart phones etc) to provide SOS children and young people the best chances to join the job market and become self-reliant through mastery in ICT technology.
Nov 2017 – Mr Frank Mockler, ECDL Head of Programme Standards, attended the China Vocational Education Innovation & Development Conference in Sichuan, China and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Deyang Education Bureau. The conference not only highlighted the increased focus that the Chinese government is putting on vocational education, but also brought together representatives from other countries in the region.
Monfort Boys Town, ICDL’s Accredited Test Centre (ATC), together with Fraser & Naeve Holdings Bhd (F&NHB) has been providing ICDL programs annually to more than 400 underprivileged youth in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Computer Skills Foundation Taiwan (ICDL Team in Taiwan) held the IT Security Competition 2017 which was jointly organized with Chia Nan University of Pharmacy & Science. This competition is mainly for high schools and universities students who needs to develop and understand the IT Security concept.
ICDL Asia held its first ICDL Train-the-Trainers (TTT) program in China, Nanjing City on 22 – 24 November 2017 in Jin Ling Science & Technology Institute. The programs was well-received with participations from many schools/universities teachers who are dedicated to enhance the digital literacy standards for their students.
