ICDL Asia General Manager Ms. Tina Wu addressed the World Education Summit held in New Delhi from 21-22 August 2015. In her address, Ms. Wu shared her concern for the urgent need for Skill Development particularly in the area of Digital Skills for a country like India, which is headed to be a leading knowledge economy of the world.
During the same trip, Ms. Wu met with the Deputy Chief Minister of Government of Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia to discuss their plans for the Skills Development Ministry recently announced by the Government. The Deputy Chief Minister listened intently on how ICDL co-operates with governments around the world to empower the youth with digital skills.
At the WES, ICDL Asia also participated as an exhibitor where leading educational institutions from the country expressed the need for inclusion of ICDL in their educational programmes.
ICDL Asia also announced the launch of its Foundation Year for Schools programme where candidates will be trained and certified on ICDL modules that are relevant and mapped to their curriculum.
During the trip, Ms. Tina Wu also inducted Simplus Skills as an Accredited Test Center in Gurgaon.
