Aug 2017 – Royal Institute of Management (RIM) came on board to become an ICDL Accredited Test Centre in Bhutan.  RIM is the biggest government training institution with the state of art facilities; most suitable to conduct ICDL tests for the government as well as other sectors.

RIM will be in collaboration with Bhutan Media and Communications Institute (BMCI) to work with education and training partners, local and regional authorities, national governments, international development organisations as well as public and private sector employers in all sectors, in the delivery of ICDL programmes. The goal is to enable Bhutanese individuals and organisations to assess, build and certify their competence in the use of computers and digital tools to the globally-recognised ICDL standard.

"ICDL will serve as an access point for Bhutanese to achieve international certifications in ICT skills at affordable cost in-country with the long term aim of ensuring standard digital skills in the Bhutanese workplace".

Karma Nidup, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of ICT, RIM.

“Today, the ability to use a computer effectively is becoming an essential life skill. ICDL Tests would provide a very important database of the present level of skills in the country”.

Pushpa Chhetri, Director of BMCI
