TPQI MOU signed

On  8 Sep 2017 Thailand – Bangkok City, ICDL Asia signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mr. Virachai Srikajon, Director General of Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (TPQI).

Following the official recognition of ICDL as the national ICT standard for the workplace in Dec 2016, ICDL Asia and TPQI signed an MOU to collaborate on offering ICDL Certification tests, funded by TPQI. This collaboration will commence mid September through October 2017. It will be offered to at least 10,000 civil servants and tertiary education students, up to 15,000 this year. Plans are also ongoing to offer ICDL to 30,000 people next year.

This is in line with Thailand’s vision on embarking on a journey towards Digital Thailand 4.0  – which envisions digital transformation in the country. The national vision is to incorporate the use of more technology into the market to enhance efficiency. The Certification tests will also ensurethat the IT proficiency standard of civil servants and incoming labor force reaches the workplace standard requirements.
