Big Success for ICDL - ICT Education Press Conference held in China Nanjing

16 October 2017 - ICDL Asia held the ICDL – ICT Education Press Conference in China, Nanjing, within the compound of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. This is the first Press Conference held to address to the China audience on the upcoming developments and plans ICDL has for the country. The Press Conference is themed “Introducing Global Standards, Developing International Talent” and attended by more than 80 people from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Officers from Career Counselling and Training Department, Nanjing City Department of Education Officer from International Exchange Department, several commercial training organizations and dozens of vocational colleges; including other stakeholders and local media from Jiangsu Province and the City of Nanjing.

We are honored to have Ms Therese Healy, Irish Consul General who is based in Shanghai, to grace our event and gave a speech during the Press Conference. ICDL Foundation CEO, Mr Damien O’Sullivan also shared his expertise knowledge on “Capacity Building to support a Digital Economy – Global Trends with a China Perspective”. Ms Tina Wu, General Manager of ICDL Asia, further elaborated on our upcoming plans in China and how we can do this with all our strategic partners involved.

The press conference was well received with many positive feedbacks, emphasizing the importance of digital literacy to build a digital roadmap for the future generation. The event was reported by various media organizations from Nanjing City as well.
