F&N Malaysia Empowers Underprivileged Youth through ICDL

Since 2011, Monfort Boys Town, ICDL’s Accredited Test Centre (ATC), together with Fraser & Naeve Holdings Bhd (F&NHB) has been providing ICDL programs annually to more than 400 underprivileged youth in Shah Alam, Malaysia.

Aligned with the industry’s demand, the leading F&B manufacturer in Malaysia hopes to empower youths with an international recognised computer and digital skills through ICDL’s certification programmes.

Cariessa Goh, F&NHB’s Head of Corporate Affairs said, “the company is motivated to support this initiative as their CSR effort as it creates an opportunity for the students to upgrade their IT technical and vocational skills which will allows them to take on better jobs in future’. 

Till date, F&NHB has contributed more than RM 135,000 to fund the ICDL programmes and equipping the training centre with new computers and IT equipment to run the training. Students will have to go through the ICDL certification training for six to eight months.

The graduation ceremony for the last batch of 2017 students where ICDL certificates were presented to 35 students aged between 16 to 19 years old.
