Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) have successfully certified its first cohort of students with ICDL.
A total of 125 students from its Accounting and Business cohort completed the 4 compulsory ICDL modules that have been embedded in its academic syllabus. These classes were conducted through TAR UC’s professional training arm, Center for Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) where students sat through a 2 hours class, every week from July to September last year.
The first test session was conducted on 7th January and results from this session were commendable and promising with 95 percent of the students performing well in the modules selected.
There are 24 trainers qualified to teach ICDL in TAR UC. They collectively believe that the robust ICDL syllabus is beneficial for the students as it provides them with the relevant ICT knowledge and skills which students can apply in school and in the future workforce.
The 4 ICDL modules selected were Online Collaboration, Project Planning, Advanced Spreadsheets and Advanced Presentation. These modules are selected to match one of the seven ACCA Professional Quotient – Digital Quotient.
ICDL Asia and TAR UC anticipate more accounting students in the upcoming semesters as this will help students who intend to pursue the ACCA’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
